Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zuzia Kudasik. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Zuzia with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
As an entrepreneur, developing an insatiable work ethic has been the driving force behind my small business. My parents are two of the most hardworking individuals that I have ever met, and their timeless dedication to their business has always been my source of hope when it comes to working. I also think that having two incredible older sisters inspired me to see how actions create opportunities while learning from their mistakes too. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow while creating a future that I am excited to be a part of!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hello! I am Zuzia Kudasik, A Polish-American Graphic and Illustrative designer based in Denver. Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of learning about Graphic Design, and through this, I have found a passion in life. While I have always been artistically inclined, I found that design work sparked an interest in me like never before. This led me to begin the graphic design program at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, where I immediately embraced the ways of “design thinking”. I am intrigued by communication, and through personal experiences, I knew that the field of efficient communication was the best choice for me.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As I look back on my education, I will never underestimate the power of art and history, public speaking, and authenticity as a creator. Through my time navigating the academic and professional worlds, learning more about the art that surrounds us and the history behind it has been so enriching and inspiring. This enrichment of my personal world has allowed me to show up more authentically in my professional artwork. The confidence that this knowledge gave me has allowed me to speak passionately about topics that ignite my soul, and these conversations have led to the most amazing opportunities!
Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
This is a nuanced question, as I think that both skills are important to practice and have! I think that if you are exceptional at a particular skill, it is super important to set aside time to practice and maintain that skill. However, I generally think that investing in new and unexplored areas of your life might also lead to some unexpected discoveries. I would never want anyone to invest so much in exploration that they lose sight of their skills, but a healthy balance is always needed. Personally, taking the time to ‘play’ with different media within my practice has only allowed me to become more multifaceted, and present more genuinely in my work!
