Meet Zachary TUrnage

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Zachary TUrnage. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Zachary below.

Hi Zachary, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My desire to give stems from the belief that everyone deserves a chance, a moment of relief, and a glimmer of hope. It’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit that, even when faced with personal hardships, we can find the strength to extend a helping hand to those in need. Every act of generosity becomes a small rebellion against the limitations that poverty seeks to impose.

In essence, my background has shaped me into a person who understands the transformative power of generosity. It’s not just about giving material possessions; it’s about sharing empathy, understanding, and the belief that, with a little support, anyone can rise above their circumstances.

So, when people ask where my generosity comes from, I say it comes from a place of empathy, born out of personal struggle, and fueled by the belief that, together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change. My journey from poverty to generosity is a testament to the fact that no matter where you come from, the human spirit is capable of tremendous kindness and compassion.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
In this beautiful journey called life, I stand as a child of God and a steadfast believer in Jesus Christ, anchoring my values and decisions in faith before anything else. I am blessed with a loving family—my wife, our son, and a cherished dog—who bring immeasurable joy to my days. Having served in the military for eight years, I transitioned to a career in sales, where I spent seven years closely interacting with small businesses, gaining invaluable insights into their operations. This journey sparked a passion for coaching, leading me to become a business and credit coach. As the founder of Turnage Solutions, I am dedicated to unraveling solutions for any challenge in business, finances, credit, and beyond. Two books authored by me, “Credit Guide to Build Wealth” and “12 Prophetic Declarations of Wealth,” aim to empower others on the path to financial prosperity and spiritual abundance. My life’s mission is to blend faith, family, and professional expertise to positively impact the lives of those I encounter.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Punctuality, understanding, and self-control are three qualities that have profoundly impacted my life, shaping not only my professional endeavors but also my personal growth. Punctuality, the art of being consistently on time, has instilled discipline and reliability into the fabric of my daily routines. It has not only earned me respect in various settings but also cultivated a sense of responsibility that extends beyond mere time management.

Understanding, the ability to empathize and comprehend diverse perspectives, has enriched my relationships and fueled collaboration. In both personal and professional spheres, fostering understanding has enabled me to build meaningful connections and navigate challenges with grace and patience. It has proven to be a cornerstone for effective communication and conflict resolution.

Self-control, the mastery of one’s impulses and emotions, has been instrumental in maintaining balance and resilience amidst life’s uncertainties. This quality has empowered me to stay focused on long-term goals, make rational decisions, and respond thoughtfully to adversity. It serves as a guiding force, allowing me to steer my life with intention rather than being swayed by momentary impulses.

For those early in their journey seeking to develop or improve on these qualities, my advice is rooted in consistency and self-reflection. Begin by setting small, achievable goals for punctuality, whether it be arriving five minutes early to appointments or meeting deadlines ahead of schedule. Cultivate a habit of active listening and seeking to understand others’ perspectives, recognizing that true understanding is the foundation of meaningful relationships.

Developing self-control requires mindfulness and self-awareness. Take moments to pause, especially in challenging situations, and assess your emotions objectively. Practice techniques such as deep breathing or meditation to regain composure and respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.

Remember that the journey to mastering these qualities is ongoing, and setbacks are natural. Embrace them as opportunities for growth and refinement. Surround yourself with mentors or role models who exemplify these qualities, and seek their guidance. Finally, celebrate your progress, no matter how small, as each step forward brings you closer to a life characterized by punctuality, understanding, and self-control.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Bible has played an indispensable role in shaping the foundation of my life, providing guidance, solace, and a moral compass that has been invaluable on my journey. Among the various books that have left a profound impact, the Book of Proverbs stands out as a wellspring of wisdom. Its timeless insights, practical advice, and profound truths have served as a beacon, illuminating the path to discernment and understanding in the face of life’s complexities. Proverbs has been my constant companion, offering insights into navigating relationships, making sound decisions, and cultivating a heart of wisdom that extends beyond mere knowledge.

Equally influential has been the Book of Romans, which has imparted essential lessons on humility and righteous living. In the teachings of Romans, I find a roadmap for leading a life centered on faith, humility, and compassion. The emphasis on humility, as highlighted in Romans, has been a transformative force in my interactions with others and my approach to challenges. It serves as a constant reminder to remain grounded, acknowledging the grace that shapes my journey and embracing a posture of humility in all aspects of life.

The Bible, as a whole, has been a source of strength during trials and a well of inspiration during moments of triumph. Its narratives, teachings, and principles have woven themselves into the fabric of my identity, influencing my character, values, and the way I engage with the world. The wisdom imparted by Proverbs and the humility emphasized in Romans have been particularly instrumental in shaping my worldview and guiding me toward a life marked by empathy, integrity, and a deep-seated reliance on faith.

In times of uncertainty, the Bible has been a steady anchor, providing assurance and reinforcing the importance of living a life aligned with God’s principles. Its teachings continue to be a source of comfort, challenge, and unwavering support, making the Bible an indispensable companion on my journey of spiritual growth and personal development.
