Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Muge Li. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Muge, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I started to want to pursue art when I was at school. I would like to spend most of my time on drawings. It lets me become creative and gives me inner peace. I can use my drawings to create a scene or story. One time, I asked myself what do you want to do in the future, I think I heard my heart says to be an artist.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an illustrator and designer who focus on children’s illustrations, editorial illustrations, and graphic design. After completing my design program, I started to have a passion for drawing. This led me to pursue my artistic dream in the Illustration MFA program at Syracuse University. I started the tarot project during school. I love funny and quirky characters. It is a such fun project for me. , After I received so many likes on the internet, I decided to bring it to completion. Despite the time it took, the project gave me a lot of fun about drawing and allowed me to develop into the world of tarot cards.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe the most impactful qualities for me are finding your mission, maintaining your passion, and being patience. The first step is discovering your mission—what you genuinely enjoy and are willing to pursue despite any challenges you may encounter. Keep your passion alive for your mission and stay motivated at all times. Lastly, practice patience; everything needs time to grow.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I really appreciate my parents who give me full support to become an artist. I also appreciate my professors and friends, they encourage me and give me faith when I doubt myself.
