Meet Dani Aquino

We were lucky to catch up with Dani Aquino recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dani, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
In my past, more specifically during times in my childhood and high school, were some of the lowest points of my life where I don’t think I will ever reach again. I was down bad bad haha. It wasn’t until I reached a spiritual breakthrough for me to understand that your mentality creates your reality. You attract what you put out. Once you stop allowing life to happen to you and start taking control of your thoughts, you can become anything. For me, everyday is the best day ever because of those times where I used to be completely hopeless. I was living in fear, scared about the future, anxious and lost. All of those negative emotions did nothing but create more chaos and turmoil in my life. Now I create my life in love, compassion, understanding and I have never looked back since. Every single one of us makes up the universe. Uni meaning one and verse meaning script or song. This is your script, write it!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have been doing photography for almost 6 years now and during those 6 years I was always working 1 or 2 jobs on the side as extra income. About 5 months ago, I quit my 9-5 to pursue and continue my photography business. I’ve had my photography business for 3 years now and I seriously can’t believe how far I have come. This new year of 2024 will be the first year where I have fully committed myself and I can’t wait to watch my art grow. I also will be rebranding in the beginning of the new year that will launch at the end of February that im super excited for. I now have time for all of the ideas and personal projects that I’ve kept on the back burner for years and its such a fulfilling experience that I’m immensely grateful for.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Confidence, faith (belief in the unknown), and purpose are the key qualities that made in impact on my journey. Believe in yourself and stop caring about other peoples opinions who literally have nothing to do with you.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
One thing I will forever be grateful for, is my grandmother allowing me to pursue whatever career I wanted as long as it made me happy. She never pressured me to become something im not or even tried to instill any fear onto me about my future when I wanted to pursue art. She was always supportive and encouraging and theres no way I would be where I am today without her.
