Meet Maguis Sosa

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maguis Sosa a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Maguis, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I was raised by a philanthropist mom and since I was little and used to go with her to giveaway blankets and food to people with less resources and learned. She was also was raised by philanthropist dad. Giving is a great feeling and generates endorphins. It can be different resources, like knowledge, time, skills or money. When we are fortunate we should always appreciate what we have and be generous.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I was raised on the entertainment business and was always behind the cameras. I always liked the business part as well as creative aspects. Started in music management and later evolved into the digital landscape where I managed influencers. Since I am also a creative I have played different roles in production , this is where I started to produce editorial , commercial and music videos. I founded my mom’s merchandise store Lolita Ayala Shop and oversee all business and creative aspects.
I love fashion & lifestyle and support up and coming businesses specially women founded. This is why I started to produce Urbanitas pop-up and other pop-ups in fashion and lifestyle that would combine all my passions and skills for networking and putting the pieces together.
Five 2 Media in Entertainment works as a multi-disciplinary agency offering the media side like PR & MKT and management whether it’s a brand/ talent and brand partnerships.
Five 2 Studios is focused on producing , media, lifestyle events, digital content (fashion, music, commercial or editorial).

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Charisma, networker and a resourceful person. Personality opens you to meet new people and connect with other people whom you never know you might cross paths later in the future.
Being resourceful is being ahead of Time and always or almost always provide solutions for others. This is a hard skills that I have learned over the years and different roles and jobs.
My advice is network and go out there the most you can with people aligned with your values and learn , listen .
Don’t ever be afraid to ask , the more questions the better, be curious and try to help others whenever you can.
