We recently connected with Daniel Pablo and have shared our conversation below.
Daniel, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Hello! Thanks very much for having me. My assumption is that purpose comes along with that which fills your heart with joy as well as adventure and makes you keep going despite the bad times that we must all come to face in our lives. It must be also something that not only benefits yourself but also the people around you.
Nowadays purpose for me comes from a place of much-needed self-expression and sharing the things I’ve seen in my life; I’m a very sensitive person therefore I learned that everything that comes inside my body whether it is good or bad needs to be processed somehow; this is why I lean so much into art since it allows me to purposefully do this. I think that without this outlet I would be pretty much not as stable mentally as I think I am right now (haha) but still, I think that anyone who can read this article can relate that art, provides a much-needed space for safely exploring feelings, ideas and thoughts that might not have any other space but on the abstract world of our imagination.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a musician and producer and at the moment, my music project “Robbers” just released its first single in a long time a couple of weeks ago. It’s called “W.G.T.F. (Won’t Get Too Far)” and you can find it available now on streaming platforms along with a video already available on Youtube. This single is part of the first self-produced EP that is being released through our label “Faceless Records”. We recorded the demos in L.A. and finished the whole recording in Mexico.
Some of the demo tracks were used since we did not find the same sparkle once we were re-recording, however it took us 4 years to produce the whole material. We’ll be releasing more music in the upcoming months while we have some tour dates around different countries. Hope you can join us on the road!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say: Obsession, Discipline, and Courage. These three have given me the most “Wins” in my life. Obsession with the details, in everything that I find appealing, and that makes me scratch a bit my head when I start digging as profound as I can into it. Discipline to be able to develop the abilities that are needed to get me to the place I want to be and reach the results I would like to see and last but not least, Courage because being kind to people and with yourself throughout the journey requires a big amount of courage as well as to keep going despite the difficulties.
My advice to anyone reading this who wishes to pursue their dreams is to not quit. It is that simple, if it gives you purpose and fulfills you: keep it going. You’ll find the right answers and people in the way. Also as a very famous music producer says “If done to the best of your ability there’s nothing else to do” or something along those lines; my point being do not quit even though you are not reaching within the first attempt the result that you wanna get. Michaelangelo said that if everyone knew how many attempts it took him to achieve his works, nobody would think he is a genius. Still, we have him contemplated as one of the greatest ever to have existed.
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
To reach as many ears as possible with my music and hopefully generate an undeniable change that will perdure throughout the next centuries; I have always attempted to be the very best musician I can and to express myself to the best of my capabilities regardless of the situation. Nothing fulfills me more since I think it will benefit not only myself or the ones around me but also the ones to come after me. To pave their way in a sense.
