Meet Kylia Jackson

We were lucky to catch up with Kylia Jackson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kylia , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Back in 2018, I had just graduated from college and secured my dream job at a well-known company. I was in a happy relationship and moved into my dream apartment the following year. Despite everything on the outside, inwardly, I felt a deep sense of emptiness. I was filled with anxiety and started losing my creativity. I searched for meaning in my job but was surrounded by people who seemed miserable despite making more than enough money.

They complained about everything, and every day I would go to work and feel a heavy darkness. I started to feel the weight of this and realized there had to be more to life than this. This marked the beginning of my purpose journey.

In 2019, I was introduced to The Blessed + Bossed Up podcast, and the host became a catalyst in helping me build my relationship with Jesus. I learned that my purpose was not found in my career, relationships, or finances but in surrendering my life to Him [Matthew 10:39]. Studying the Bible, I discovered that I was made by God for His glory, not my own [Isaiah 43:7].

In September of that year, I rededicated my life to Jesus and walked away from everything that did not glorify Him. I believe I have several assignments within my overall purpose, and in this season, it’s helping women organize their lives, grow deeper in their relationship with Christ, and help them birth their God ideas. I do this through Christian Life Coaching and share the journey on my YouTube channel @kyliajackson and my podcast, Organize My Thoughts.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Kylia Jackson, and I am a Christian Life Coach & Execution Strategist who helps women balance a 9-5 and God-projects, assisting them in getting out of their heads and executing their goals. I am also the host of the ‘Organize My Thoughts’ Podcast. One of the biggest challenges my clients face is life management.

They know they are called to launch creative ideas, but with numerous life responsibilities and a flood of sabotaging thoughts attacking their minds, they tend to put their creative ideas on the back burner.

I help them overcome these challenges by assisting them in implementing systems and routines to organize their life, mind, and time through Christ-centered productivity and mind management.

One of the first areas I address with my clients is establishing consistency within their relationship with Christ and protecting their minds against anxious thoughts and limiting beliefs. To aid in this process, I created “Cast Your Cares,” a guided journal for Christian women seeking to build confidence, fight anxiety, and stop overthinking using God’s word. This journal helps them prioritize seeking God first while also developing the habit of guarding their minds against intrusive thoughts.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Endurance, organization, and faith are the first three areas that were the most impactful in my journey. My advice for people who are in the beginning stages of their journey is not to get discouraged when you don’t see the immediate fruit of the seeds you’re planting. I’ve learned that being obedient to where God is leading doesn’t always mean that things are to work out how or when you thought, but if you stick with it you will see the fruit. I always say that Effort + Consistency = Results. I’m seeing the fruit of that in my life. There were so many times I got discouraged in business or caught up in comparison but I learned to stay focused on running my own race.

Organization is another major skill that I would advice people in the beginning stages to work on. Get your systems, routines, and habits down because you don’t want to build on chaos.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back and reflect in prayer. Most of the time, I feel overwhelmed when I haven’t spent enough time in the presence of God or when I’m trying to do things in my own strength. After prayer, God highlights the root of the issue, and I make the necessary adjustments.

I also evaluate the systems and routines I have in place. While my foundational systems and routines are solid, depending on the season of my life, I adjust them to make room for what that season requires of me. For example, right now, I’m in the building season, which demands a lot of upfront work in my business. With this in mind, I’ve adjusted my routine to wake up an hour earlier, extending my time with God to ensure that I’m refilled and intentionally building in this season. I’m also taking a break from social media to maximize my time.
