Meet Javan Plummer

We were lucky to catch up with Javan Plummer recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Javan, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose by trial and error. I spent many years growing up confused as to what I am meant to do in life. Lately, these past few years I have learned that my purpose is to spread positivity from the work that I do on a day to day basis. By that I mean every person I come into contact with no matter the interaction, should feel a positive vibe while communicating with me. There is so much negativity in this world that the only way we can really make an actual difference is to spread positivity and happiness with others. It’s a slow process that will eventually make a difference.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Lately I have been focused on my acting career. I am finally taking formal classes to enhance my skills as an actor and a model. The fashion hero: a different kind of beautiful tv series is a reality show breaking barriers in the world of fashion. It’s non inclusive meaning anyone can shine. I really like their message and am running in the competition. I have made it to the final round of casting. If selected for filming, I will be traveling to Rovinj, Croatia to film the upcoming season 4 episodes. I’m super excited to showcase my talent on such and positive show.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that have been crucial to my advancement in my career has been my Determination, Communication skills, and consistency. Some advice I would give to anyone starting their career is just be consistent and be intentional with what you do. It’s important to do what you need to do to advance your career. Ways to improve is to send evaluate every couple months. Look back at what you have done recently and pro/con it to see if you have made progress or are remaining where you were before.
