Meet Twilla Twaun

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Twilla Twaun. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Twilla below.

Twilla , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I feel like being creative isn’t necessarily something you do once or a few times. Most successful artists will tell you they made creativity a lifestyle to be where they are.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Most may know me for being a Rapper, CEO, entrepreneur, or businessman judging off my social media presence over the last ten years but on the flip side I’m also a father, a mentor and leader of my community working towards becoming a major figure and mogul in the music industry. I’m the Founder and Owner of my own independent brand and label AIU also known as Add It Up Gang entertainment which I have released several albums , singles and mixtapes under including others artists and producers as well. My most recent project “ROSELAND BABY” is out now on all streaming services and be sure to check out my label and merch page on Instagram for the latest updates on Add It Up Gang Apparel, music and more.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One thing I was made aware of early in my career is that the future will always depend on what you do right now. Always remember in life if nothing changes nothing changes. Another thing is energy is contagious. Either you affect people or you infect people. And lastly make this your last year supporting what doesn’t support you.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I give all thanks to the most high. I’m faced with challenges everyday and coming from the south side of Chicago challenges is something I had to get comfortable with at a early age but as we all know sometimes all it takes is to see more to be more. My pops use to tell me Il make way more money changing the game then following it.
