We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sierra Upshaw a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sierra, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Once I accepted that individuality was my superpower, my confidence grew tremendously. God created me to be myself and knowing that releases the habit of comparing my journey or feeling like I’m incapable. Focusing on what makes me feel good nourishes my self-esteem . Whether that be feeling good through clothing, through movement or through friendships, I’m welcoming what’s best for me. My existence affirms my worth therefore I don’t feel that I have to prove anything to anyone. I am committed to taking the best care of myself because I deserve that.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As an artistic interpreter, I guide creative people in translating their spirit into any medium they desire. Authenticity is my main focus because I want creatives to use their individual gifts to shine their unique light. It’s all about that creative signature. No one can do what you do and once you master your individuality you’ll realize just how capable you are. We have everything we need inside of us so my job is to have you see that for yourself. What I do is very special because it connects art and spirituality in a harmonious way that benefits my clients holistically. My objective is to have people create from their truest self and feel good doing it!
Artistic interpreting is currently shared through my ebook and one on one consultations available on upshaw.co. I discus practical steps, lifestyle shifts, career moves and more in order to elevate artistry. I also use this skill set as creative lead on projects and performances. I’m excited to help artist strengthen their authenticity and experience limitless living.
Season three of my show UPSHAW is now live on YouTube and it’s my authentic offering to the world. Imagine having the best FaceTime with your one friend that always has you feeling better than how you came—that’s UPSHAW. Every episode is curated to be elevating and entertaining leaving the viewer with a smile in their spirit. I look forward to reaching as many people as I’m meant to.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My spirituality, determination, and optimism, are what help me along my journey. I encourage everyone to commit to spiritual practices they feel most aligned with in order to be equipped for their days. I live my life moment to moment taking it one breath at a time. May we all remember we’re born a winner and look at every challenge as an opportunity to show who you really are. Enjoy the ride!
