Meet Alondra Lara

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alondra Lara. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alondra below.

Alondra, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Constantly putting myself in challenging positions that younger me would’ve never imagined possible, has been the climax point of my life.

After commencing my real estate career over 3 years ago, I learned just how much I needed to work on myself and life in general. I had to put myself out there to even be known as a realtor. Therefore, I knew I had to come up with different ways to toughen up and break out of my shell or else I was not getting anywhere!

Last year, I joined my first ever pageant at 21 years old! Yes, 21! I was so afraid and skeptical because never did I think I was “good” enough to even be invited to join. But, I had to be brave and believe that I was capable of it. I knew that me competing for a state pageant would help me develop stronger and that I would get so much out of it.

All of my life, I thought pageantry was all about physical appearance but joining the Miss Texas Latina organization truly changed my mind. Pageantry is far more than just physical beauty, it is about the beauty of our hearts and minds and what we can do with them.

Challenging myself into joining this pageant changed everything for me. It allowed me to showcase my personality, face my greatest physical and mental fears and gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. The major lesson that I learned throughout this challenge I took on was that if I can stand, perform, model and speak in front of a massive crowd, I can do anything after that. Literally anything. And even though I was not crowned as the Miss Texas Latina 2022, I did win 3rd runner up, being my first and only pageant ever and the simple fact that I did it, I had already won!

Having joined as a candidate, allowed me the opportunity to surpass my fears, meet major people, volunteer in my community, help other girls facing the same skepticism, allowed me to grow as a person, guard my heart from comparison, took my real estate business to a whole other level but most importantly, it though me how to be resilient with anything that life decides to bring me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a Houston realtor, you’ll see me pretty much anywhere! Over the years, I have grown so much in the real estate career all thanks to God!

Personally, I am a person that is constantly looking into personal development. Anything that I know will physically, mentally, emotionally and financially help me, I am all for it. I have thought myself to let go of skepticism and go after everything I know I can do!

This year, I have made a switch over with eXp Realty, LLC. It is a cloud based brokerage that allows us to literally work from anywhere. I am super grateful for the opportunity of meeting up with David and Anita Orellana at the beginning if this year to interview and learn more about eXp and their business plan! I was so intrigued to meet them after seeing their amazing social media platform and how they were using it to expand their business in real estate. Now if you know me, I am all about growth and social media! Knowing how to properly use your social media platforms is very significant and that is something I saw in both of them!

Of course, after meeting up with them I was 100% in and said let’s do it! Literally the next day, I was introduced to our amazing mentor, Gabe Mendez, ranked 1% realtor in San Diego and our coach, Leo Robles who presents “daily motivation to achieve massive prosperity in your real estate business and life!” Even though I am a Texas realtor and they are in California, they are leaders of a global multi billion real estate organization that gives realtors reach and access to any type of help in our real estate lives! By far, the best decision I have ever take in my real estate years!

To say I am blessed is an understatement. I am so sure God brought me here for a reason. He knew this was exactly what I wanted and where I needed to be. I found my real estate home here and I cannot wait to see just how much more my business will continue to bloom and flourish!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
From my point of view today, keeping it real with myself, guarding my mind and heart from comparison and keeping my faith in God was what led me to where I am today!

Stay true to yourself. If you want to try something out do it. If you want to start making marketing/educational videos, do it. If you want to attend a networking event do it. If you want to challenge yourself in any way, DO IT! You are here for yourself. We each have our own type of success and happiness and we are all working to get there.

Don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone starts somewhere different. Don’t let someone else’s success define yours because only you know what your definition of success is and only you know what exact steps you need to take to get there. Embrace your character and be authentic. Love, enjoy and respect your journey!

Never loose faith. Faith is hard to maintain in your lowest and darkest moments. But remember, God always comes through at the end of the day. We are only being blinded by the brighter side!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My fiancé! Oh man, I will literally go days and days talking about this man! Cristian, my newly fiancé has been my guardian angel in human living form! We are high school sweethearts and pretty much high school is when your life beings to change and transform. He has been through it all with me. He has been my shoulder to cry on since 2016. I have always been the type of person to overwork myself and with that comes mental breakdowns and anxiety attacks. He is my person. He is there to uplift and encourage me. With every crazy idea I come up with he is there to lead the way for me. Since high school, he knew the high expectations I always set on myself. He never missed one of my dance performances. Before an important exam, he would send me an encouraging text to motivate me. If I ever failed in anything, he was always there to remind me that it was only a learning experience and that it was going to be okay.

After graduating high school, I went straight into real estate school. He was always there to take me to school, pick me up and cheer me up! He often times helped me with my homework! He knows how challenging it has been on me. There were days where I literally would cry for hours because I couldn’t understand my book and and he would sit there and re-read with me until it made sense! He played a major role in me passing both my state and national exams to become a realtor! After becoming licensed, again, I knew I had to find my ways to present myself and become known. That’s when I begin brainstorming and coming up with ideas and plans to challenge myself. I was always afraid of actually taking action but he was always there telling me it will all be okay and that I could do it. Even while competing in my first pageant, he made sure to be front center to remind me that he was always going to be there no natter what.

From my very first listing appointment to my most recent one, he has called or texted me right before, a huge encouraging message to hype me up and make me believe in myself. Every time I got/get a new buyer, he is there to congratulate me no matter how many it has been! It never gets old for him! Every client I am able to successfully get, he treats it as if it were my very first!

He has taught me to be strong and resilient, but most importantly, to always hold on to my faith and believe in my self.
