We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tak Boroyan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tak , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I practice something that I want to be good at. Its frustrating and daunting at times but that’s part of the practice. Confidence comes from overcoming these hurdles and knowing that I know what I’m doing and not just winging it. My self esteem comes from positive self talk and constant attempts at improving myself.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a graphic artist by profession. I’ve been working in film and TV for over 2o years. In the last 5 years or so I added editing and animation to my skillset. Creating content from start to finish (from writing to final edits) is something that I enjoy immensely. So it was a natural professional progression when I’ve started a production company called Greatest Hist Production house along with a couple of friend creators. We specialize in content development as well as advertising.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Collaborate with others. Spend lots of time doing your own projects even if no one pays your or sees them. This is how you will learn your craft. Help out others if you can.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
The 3 Takes. Take a break, take a breath and take one thing at a time. Next thing you know you’re on top of the heap again.
