Meet Liron Ohayon

We recently connected with Liron Ohayon and have shared our conversation below.

Liron, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
From a young age I loved to draw, I had a very strong connection with colors and how they spread on the page, I was precise and it really gave me satisfaction When I grew up I wanted to continue with the field of art but I didn’t want to be a painter, and at the age of 22 I decided that I was going to study graphic design, or “visual communication” as they call it in college. The studies lasted 4 years and it was very challenging and intense.
After school, I started working in a small printing house for about two years, after which I decided to continue on my own and open a business.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My field of work is graphic design and I mainly specialize in business branding Before I started with this field, I really liked the field of cosmetics and beauty, as a hobby I would do eyebrows and apply nail polish to my relatives and I really liked the aesthetics and precision.
At the beginning of my journey as a graphic artist, I posted myself in groups of beauticians and manicurists because I was very connected to this field and I felt the need to give them an answer. I received many inquiries and began to gain experience and fill out my portfolio.
Little by little my confidence started to rise and I started to receive inquiries from different fields as well such as: lawyers, doctors, bakers, fitness trainers and more… Each field challenged me anew.
And the more feedback and compliments I received, the more I realized that I was doing the right thing and that this profession is exactly for me.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My outstanding qualities are great patience for the customer, integrity, and a great love for design. My advice to graphic artists just starting out is to invest in a portfolio, because it’s your business card, build a website that looks good and professional, and advertise yourself wherever possible. Regarding work with the client, it is very important to take an advance payment before any work and to clarify with him the coordination of expectations.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
My biggest obstacle that I face every day is my self-confidence. Many times I was afraid to enter into projects with clients because I thought that I would not be able to cope, or that the client might not like what I would do for them, also in my pricing many times I gave a low price so that the client would close with me.
But every obstacle is my lesson, from every mistake I learn how to deal with it next time and self-confidence builds slowly and surely.
