We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tracy Dawson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tracy below.
Tracy, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I have always believed that resilience is key to achieving great success. I have personally experienced the struggles of defying the odds and overcoming obstacles. This resilience has been developed through a lack of resources, self-doubt, and the need to create a path where there was none. My mother was a great example of resilience, as she never gave up and refused to let her circumstances dictate her life.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As an entrepreneur with a big heart, I have learned many things over the years. In 2016, I took on the role of business manager for an elite businessman and spent five years learning about business and about myself. One of the most important things I learned was the importance of trust. I used to believe that everyone in the business world was as good as me, but I soon discovered that this was not the case. I urge everyone to take the time to understand themselves so that they can choose wisely when it comes to who and what they invest their time and energy into. This helped me avoid bad business experiences and saved me a lot of money. So, remember: a good person can be ruined by the many who are not.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The best advice I can give you is to have an attitude of gratitude always and in every way. Fail fast fail forward fail Often be resilient in your endeavors never stop growing always be learning and remember you’re never as smart as you think you are. Don’t allow anyone to compress your genius surround yourself with people who fan your flame. And the last thing is this Make sure your servant tile is bigger than your ego.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
The biggest obstacle I think that is common to most visionaries and entrepreneurs is understanding the process of knowing you will never get it all done. Also knowing how to not put yourself in positions that will hinder you from being able to excel. You have to realize that you can never get in your way don’t overthink and most importantly don’t doubt kills. So the number one thing that has helped me is learning to control and have complete trust and patience in the journey. What will be accept it move forward?
