Meet Megan Herron

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Megan Herron a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Megan, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
Weekly Calendar Planning: Step into my world, where weekly planning isn’t just a task; it’s a curated soirée of possibilities. Imagine a calendar adorned with gold accents and diamond-studded milestones, where each hour is a celebration of success. It’s not merely planning; it’s orchestrating a symphony of elegance that whispers, “Let luxury guide the way.” 🌟✨

Elite Squad Goals:
I don’t build teams; I assemble a coterie of brilliance. My team isn’t just a crew; it’s an ensemble of sophistication. Entrusting them with the keys to the kingdom allows me to gracefully step into moments of indulgence – perhaps a midday spa retreat or an impromptu coffee at a chic locale. Work isn’t just done; it’s curated with an air of refinement.

Elevating Operational Excellence
To keep my mind uncluttered and focused on the critical aspects of my business, I rely on project management software like Clickup. This powerful tool streamlines communication, organizes tasks, and tracks project progress. With Clickup, I can efficiently delegate responsibilities to my fabulous team, monitor workflows, and collaborate with my crew, all while freeing up mental space to concentrate on strategic decision-making. This tech-savvy approach enhances productivity and ensures that our business operations run smoothly.

Sumptuous Energy and Leisure Moments:
I understand that success is best savored in the lap of luxury. Feeling a tad languid today? It’s time for a regal energy recharge – perhaps a luxury trip to Costa Rica or an afternoon spent cuddling with my favorite book. Slowing down isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s an art form, a luxurious pause to rejuvenate the entrepreneurial spirit. My philosophy: indulge in life’s finest.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I started my professional life as a NICU nurse, a role that taught me the essence of dedication, patience, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

However, life had other plans. The desire to give my children unforgettable experiences and to fully live my life led me away from the static hours of the hospital. This transition was far from easy, but each stumbling block was a stepping stone towards my purpose – helping business owners fulfill their dreams.

I ventured into the world of business, starting as a photographer, and later found a passion for health coaching. These experiences were pivotal in shaping my understanding of the business landscape. But it was my deeper exploration into the back-end processes of businesses that sparked a fire within me.

Today, I am infatuated with strategizing on how to enhance a good business and turn it into a great one. I am driven by the desire to create memorable experiences for clients without letting work dominate their lives. As a systems strategist and client experience expert, I now spend my days working with ambitious business owners who have built a solid business foundation but are ready for more – more time, more freedom, and more money.

My journey is a clear reflection of my dedication to my clients and my love for what I do. I thrive on strategizing, innovating, and implementing systems that ensure a seamless business operation. My ultimate goal? To help others experience the freedom and success they’ve always dreamed of.

We do this through our main service – VIP Weeks. This isn’t just about fine-tuning a business — it’s about ushering in a transformation that will redefine the way business owners think about success. The VIP Week is a passage to a future where a business is a catalyst for prosperity and pleasure, rather than a chore.

During the VIP Week, we delve deep into a business, carrying out a comprehensive audit to illuminate areas where they might be leaving money or time on the table. This is the first step in our journey towards transforming an enterprise into a well-oiled machine that turns every client interaction into an unforgettable experience.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Listening – listening is the skill I have always been told I am excellent at. I wouldn’t say I like talking 😜 but I love to listen. This allows me to hear where and how the business is truly struggling. While completing my certification as a health coach, I read many books about active listening. This allowed me to learn how to dive deeper into what a client might be saying or suggesting. 2. Technology – I have always had a fascination with technology. Growing up when technology was something new and seeing all the advancements that came – including in the medical field – I think I have always known it can assist us more in life. This transitioned into business as well. I joined tons of Facebook groups and spent time asking questions, reading others’ questions, and absorbing everything I could to understand how technology can help us build a business that gives us freedom and also gives us the ability to experience life greater!
3. Connection – I thrive by connecting with others. This allowed me to network, learn & grow, and have others to look up to and follow in my business. I started in the Virtual Assistant world through a friend I had met during my health coaching days. She had pivoted her business into the VA world, and I started asking her questions, which led to the ability to subcontract with her business and allowed me to grow my business faster than I ever imagined possible.

If you are looking to start your own business, it doesn’t matter what field I recommend learning about the technology, connecting with others in your field, and learning how to truly listen to the clients you’ll be working with so you can learn how to help them!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We are always looking for others in the online service provider space to collaborate with. Marketing experts, CPAs and bookkeepers, website designers, branding specialists, educators for wedding pros, and any other services that work with wedding professionals. A business is only as good as its weakest link, so everything has to be in tip-top shape for wedding professionals to reach seven figures without allowing their business to take over their lives. If you are interested in being added to our referral guide, collaborating on a future course, hopping in an IG live together to educate wedding pros on the importance of your field, or being a guest on a future blog post, email megan@meganherron.com.
