Meet Kendall Doub

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kendall Doub. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Kendall, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
As an artist confidence and self-esteem are extremely important. For me confidence and self-esteem are earned through experience. With each successful project or goal I achieve I gain new perspective on what success is while also gaining the confidence to continue to push myself creatively in new exciting directions!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Kendall Doub. I am an artist and graphic designer based in Winston-Salem, NC. I work in multiple fields of art including Studio Art, Mural Art, Graphic Design and Illustration. I’ve had the great pleasure to collaborate with and create for many amazing people, businesses and corporations with my art and design. Beyond the art its self, creating and building personal and professional relationships is one of my favorite parts of being a professional creative. When working with a client, whether it be for a design project, mural or painting I always approach it with a collaborative focus. I want the client to feel like they are part of the work and process. In addition to my professional work I have been heavily involved in local charity/non-profit art projects. Working with art non-profits bringing public mural art to communities and visiting schools working with students from Elementary through College level. I’m most proud of a lot of that work over the years. I strongly believe that art can be a strong tool in helping build and grow both business and communities.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For me the three most important qualities or skills that have impacted my success are as follows:

1. Be able to take constructive criticism. Art is a very subjective thing. Not everyone is going to love what you are doing and thats ok. Whats important is your ability to listen and understand other peoples perspectives and opinions. Use that information to grow as an artist and find new ways to connect with people through your art.

2. Be willing to work with others. Collaboration is a beautiful thing. Great things can be created by working with different views and perspectives that people can bring to the table.

3. Love what you do! Your passion and love for your craft will show through the work. If you love what you do, you just might inspire others to do the same.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always looking for new opportunities to work and collaborate with new clients. From private individual commissions for paintings and murals to art and design for businesses and corporations. Interested parties can connect with me through Facebook, Instagram and Email.
