Meet Catara Lane

We recently connected with Catara Lane and have shared our conversation below.

Catara , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
A good way I have developed my confidence is something I like to call the do it anyway approach. So I do it when I’m happy, sad, scared or when its not working out. I think when your not confident about something most of the times you just don’t have any experience with it so if you keep doing it then eventually you will become more familiar with it making you more confident and building your self esteem.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Catara Lane I am a video editor and video strategist

I help online business owners create professional videos so they can build trust and get more sales

Some facts about me
I have a Film and media arts degree and started my video production agency in 2020

Since then I have personally edited and produced 100+ videos for clients for multiple social media platforms.

I have also created and edited 2 short documentaries that got into film festivals within the past 3 years and I’m host of the Video with a purpose podcast where I teach business owners how to use video purposely online

Currently I’m focased on building my YouTube channel so that has been a very fun project.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
2 qualities that has been very impactful in my journey has been persistence and being open minded. persistence helps me reach my goals eventually and being open minded has landed me in opportunities I never thought I would take.

1 skill that was the most impactful in my life is video editing. With this skill I have been able to work for myself and start any creative media project I have.

One way you can develop and improve all these skills is just to keep practicing and also believe that you are capable of doing whatever you set your mind to

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
It never hurts to be a well rounded individual.

Taking me for example, I hopped into full time entrepreneurship right after college with no help so as you can imagine I had to become well rounded and adjust to different things very fast to stay afloat.

But someone with more resources may not have to do that.

I will also say sometimes we are not as good as we think we are, we are just the best in our immediate circles.
