Meet Robert Mack

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robert Mack a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

First, I started by placing more confidence in the power of confidence itself. I learned as much as I could about the importance of being self-confident.

Second, I began keeping what I called a “Daily Brag Book” or “Daily Self-Love Journal.” In that notebook, I identified and listed anything and everything that I liked, appreciated, or enjoyed about myself.

Third, I recorded little self-confidence affirmations, meditations, or mantras about myself on an audio recorder, and I played them to myself when I slept.

Fourth, I avoided thinking or talking about any aspects of myself that I didn’t like. Through consistent effort, this practice became second nature.

Finally, I spent as little time as possible with people who didn’t support my intention to be self-confident, and I spent as much time as possible with people who did.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m an Ivy League-educated, Positive Psychology Expert, Celebrity Happiness Coach, Published Author, and Television Host & Producer.

I teach people how to be happier—and more successful, too—from the inside out, based on time-tested science and timeless wisdom.

My work has been endorsed by Oprah, Vanessa Williams, and many others. I’ve been featured on TV shows like The Today Show, Good Morning America, and Access Hollywood; on TV networks like E! and OWN; and in magazines like GQ, Self, Health, and so on.

I’ve coached celebrities, professional athletes, and everyday people, and I’ve worked with companies like Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Deloitte, Twilio, Carnival, YouTube, Capital One, Sony, and many more.

I’ve written two best-sellers: Happiness from the Inside Out and Love from the Inside Out, and I will be releasing at least 9 more books soon!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
First, happiness. The happier you are, the more successful you’ll be in all areas of your life. Plus, you’ll be happy, which is the point of everything you want, anyway.

Second, self-love. The more you love yourself, the happier and more successful you’ll be in all areas of your life.

Third, faith. With faith, you can do anything. Without it, you can’t do much of anything.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
They loved me—and continued to love me—unconditionally, period.
