Meet Will Summers

We recently connected with Will Summers and have shared our conversation below.

Will, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Do you have anything you’re obsessed with that keeps you up at night? Has that same thing ever kept you up so long you fell asleep only to be awoken by your alarm 2 hours later because it’s already morning again?

It’s called Netflix….just kidding for me it’s called filmmaking, content creation, anything to do with a camera and video.

I was always introverted growing up; filming/documenting things with a camera was my way of overcoming that shyness to communicating my thoughts, ideas and messages with people around me.

I see Filmmaking is an escape from reality, I believe that’s why people love watching movies; All those cinematic visuals and characters we admire on screen

I see Life as a series of moments and experiences with chapters and character development ; I just happen to document those experiences for myself and others constantly; That’s really the only thing that’s given me a sense of purpose and to see where it continues to go

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Gonna sound like a made up story but I’m a freelance videographer in New Jersey who happens to be a part time gymnastics instructor; and somewhere in the middle of all that got myself noticed by Bicoastal Management NYC talent agency to dabble in acting, so that I could to always keep my foot in the door for all Things related to filmmaking and video production.

My niche is drone work and video editing; occasionally you might see me on camera; but for the most part you can find me filming around Bergen County New Jersey

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’m still learning and have more to go but I believe the qualities most impactful for anything you Wanna go for in life are “Consistency/Obsession” in whatever you wanna excel in , “Perseverance” in times of failure and being able to “Adapt” to change

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I go by @heymrcreative on Instagram and by Itswillsummers on YouTube as of recently

Being an introvert most of my childhood and then suddenly having a camera open me up to people from all walks of life has been the biggest change life wise for me so of course I’m always looking meet similar people in the filmmaking world who love telling stories small or big, and/or just filming cool inspiring ideas in general.
