Meet Javairia Coleman

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Javairia Coleman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Javairia, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
Throughout my six years of entrepreneurship, I have come to understand the tides that come along with having to do all the work on your own. Although being your own boss is rewarding, it comes with moments of humility and reality checks and sometimes it’s a whole headache.

Knowing that my children are relying on me to be of a sound mind and a healthy body has made me understand the need to pace myself in this fast-paced world. My children have made me stronger than ever.

That sounds really cliche, but it’s true. Knowing that someone needs you to believe in yourself is an extremely powerful motivation tactic.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m Javairia (Jah-Var-ia), Account Manager and president of Atlanta Network Group.

ANG started as a way to provide for myself and my son (now sons) and it turned into something long-lasting.

Whether it’s designing a website, managing social media, or helping with office tasks, we are determined to make sure our clients are getting the best of what Atlanta Network Group has to offer.

Our most recent projects have allowed us to start assisting writers and creatives to publish books, journals, comic books, and more. With these skills, we look forward to helping more people publish the literature of the future.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three things that were most impactful to me during my journey were having a mentor, keeping God in the business, and always giving time to myself.

Having a mentor early on in my career saved me from a lot of years of trial and error, helped to shape my mindset of the industry, and even helped me feel more secure in asking for what I needed.

Keeping God in the mix has been the oil for the machine that is Entrepreneurship and Motherhood. Without faith and trust in the Almighty, I could have been in a completely different position than I am in right now.

One piece of advice I wish I understood sooner would be to give myself time. That little bit of extra relaxation isn’t being lazy, but recharging instead.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
One of the most impactful things my parents have done for me was to participate in careers that they loved. My mother was impactful because of her dedication to starting businesses, always taking a class, and always working in the field that most interested her. My father always told me to “Make it Happen” regardless of the way things look. There is usually a
