We recently connected with Connie Bernal and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Connie, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I began my journey to perfect my cuisine in Mexico. Working close with the culture to learn the love they had for food. Learning the spices and chilies that go with each food and why they cook so different depending on the meats or the dishes. I over come the self esteam I had by deeply inserting my self in the culture, living with them for years to learn. Understanding mistakes and fixing them. I had the best teacher not in a class room but in real.life., not a chef but real hands and loving mothers , grand mothers etc to guide me.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Nacho Bisnez is a work of love building bridges one community at a time. We specialize and focus on Yucatan foods and serving authentic food from Mayan recipes. We wre the 1st truck here in Knoxville Tn to offer Birria Tacos and Mexican Pizzas. We love that the community ingage with us to find out where the recipe comes from for the food we serve . Fellow food trucks that sell Tacos also reach out for advice with what type of tortillas do you use. Etc. We love helping our community because we serve because of them. We donate 10 to 20 % of all our sales toward each event we go to lile churches, schools, etc. Nacho Bisnez serves as well the homeless we have living everyday in such disaster conditions. Never have to look far or over seas to help people we have people here, families, children . Sister Teresa says [we can all do small things to make a big difference ].
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I have learned that food is love . I have worked hard to learn this and respect all foods from all walks of life.skill number one ( Listen ) hearing the people what they like and dis like .
Skill number 2 . ( Learn ) Learn how to communicate more efficiently
Skill number three. ( Live ) Applying the 1st 2 to my everyday life and living the experience has truly helped me . So my advice for reaching your potential is to always strive for your self to be better and love your self along the way. You will need to do that 1st of all because if you don’t love your self how can you love what you do.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
Nacho Bisnez has viewed each person individually because no one has the same likes. Taste. Or ideas. So for me every single person I come in contact with is my favorite. I listen to the bad reviews as well as the good. I treat each one the same . I have learned that God is in co troll of me and he knows my needs as well as struggles. So I am blessed to married to my husband , I have church, and a beautiful family
