Meet DALIANA CADAVID

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful DALIANA CADAVID a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

DALIANA, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I remember in my childhood I was a fan of Michael Jackson, my mother had a restaurant and every time we went to buy the supplies for the operation, there were videos of Michael dancing and doing shows in any direction you saw, I asked my mom to buy me the CDs so I could watch the videos at home, From watching them so much I learned the choreography and each time I danced while the video was playing. When I reached my adolescence, my dad began to invite me to his shows and events, he is a professional clown and entertainer of parties and events, seeing him interact with the public in such a magnetic way captivated me so much, that I began to study him, how he spoke to the public, how he managed time and emotions, how I made them a part of the show too

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a Colombian singer-songwriter, refugee in the United States, independent artist who has the mission of inspiring other artists to take initiative, to believe in their own ideas and talents, my slogan is “I make it happen” and it is no coincidence, I arrived in the United States 6 years ago with only one suitcase that I shared half with my sister, without connections or money, but with a heart full of dreams, a mind full of ideas and desire to get ahead, God has put me in the right places and I have taken advantage of it. It’s my dream and if I want it to happen I have to take action on it. 2023 was a difficult but essential year for my personal and artistic growth, I did more than 20 shows in Los Angeles and San Diego, I met wonderful artists with whom I have collaborated on stage and in the studio and I released my first 3 songs on all digital platforms “VE, TU MIRADA Y RIKOETA”.
this year will be even greater i can’t wait to see what’s in storage for me
I invite you all to immerse yourselves in my world, in which I seek happiness in doing what I came to this earth

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think that stage management is one of my strengths, if you come to one of my shows you will leave as a fan and with an experience that will be difficult to forget, I think it is super fundamental as an artist to recognize what kind of energy your audience has to know what strategy is going to work for you. The second is to practice, it doesn’t matter how talented you are, practice makes perfect, there’s nothing better than getting on that stage and knowing exactly what move comes next, obviously things are going to change as you interact with the audience, but practice is what is going to make you maneuver and come out with an impeccable show.
and the 3 one is organization, this will help you scale your business and your brand to the next level

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, my doors are always open to collaborate and to create new music. I am looking for artists, producers, photographers, videographers and other people in the media who are committed to their career and who are willing to work, you can contact me on Instagram or by email or mutual friends
