Meet Sid Stratton

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sid Stratton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Sid, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from knowing failure is just a learning experience to make me stronger and wiser. I owe a lot of my success to trial and error and knowing that if I fail to achieve my goals with a certain set of steps, I need to not give up and just change those steps to achieve my desired outcome.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Sid Stratton, and I’m the frontman of the Hard Rock/Alternative Metal band “Sid Stratton”. I’ve been writing, recording, and touring since 2007, and over that time I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with so many of my music heroes, but never quite reached my desired level of success until recently when I debuted a new band.

In March of 2022, I debuted my new band “Sid Stratton”, and since then, I’ve gotten to experience some of the greatest highlights in my career as an artist by having a hit single ‘Children of the Bad Revolution’, playing DWP’s Inkcarceration Music Festival for over 70,000 fans, performing at major conventions Spooky Empire and Megacon, and releasing two albums titled ‘All My Deadly Sins’ and ‘From Ashes to Diamonds’. This has led to gaining both fan recognition and awards such as Metalverse’s Unsigned Artist of the Year in 2023 and being Nominated for Best Metal Act in Orlando in 2022.

With all of the recent success though, the accomplishment that I’m most proud of is releasing my latest album, ‘From Ashes to Diamonds, which was released in November of 2023. This album is all about falling in love with my passions and rediscovering my hunger to succeed in music. The main standout songs on this album are “Ashes to Diamonds”, which was a wedding gift to my wife, “Let Sleeping Corpses Jive” which features guitarist Dan Sugarman of ICE NINE KILLS, “Twilight Zone” which is a reimagined cover of the 1982 Golden Earring hit, “Bloodgrind” which it aggression reincarnate, and “Children of the Bad Revolution” which is a Lana Del Rey cover and our first ever hit single.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My three pieces of advice that I would give would be to have high standards for yourself, low expectations of others, and to always dream big.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me and that all parents can do for their children is to just believe in their children’s dreams and aspirations.
