We recently connected with Lara Lenhoff and have shared our conversation below.
Lara , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
There have been many times in my life where I have been swimming in darkness- mostly in my 20s and 30s I got into art and utilizing creative expression was pivotal in my healing process. Additionally I’ve relied on my spirituality and been blessed to have a strong circle of friends and a wonderful family to get me through the times that were the darkest. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself and have been very happy, and I’ve understood I just needed to practice more self love.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am an avid reader and am working on a writing project coming up in the new year. In the past two years I’ve been published in several art publications, Vanity Fair UK, a South African women’s magazine as well as an anthology of immigration stories. I’ve been working on my blog and will have more to add to it in the beginning on the year.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’m a very strong minded and strong willed Individual. Having creative outlets such as writing, painting, and songwriting have been my saving graces. I highly encourage self exploration, self care, and learning how to value yourself. Self love and patience are important.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’d be very interested in collaborating with non profit organizations. I have worked with several and helped with events and have donated art work to help raise funds for causes important to me. I’m hoping to continue that in the new year and build a strong network and donate proceeds of art to more organizations. You can visit my website at LaraLenhoffGallery.com and email me directly.
