Meet Claudia Grimm

We were lucky to catch up with Claudia Grimm recently and have shared our conversation below.

Claudia, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
My generosity came from my parents. They taught me to respect through manners, the golden rule, and that generosity can have a ripple effect. It’s similar to yawning, once you see one person being kind to someone or something, you have that in your brain and can more easily repeat it. The act of giving and service, such as plant care, is how we allow ourselves to develop while helping others. It’s the ultimate win-win and a method to finding your purpose. When we follow great role models, like how I feel about my parents, we maintain our path to a better self!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My business is Zen Plant Care and I help preserve the health and beauty of houseplants to create a calm state of mind. I do this for residential and commercial locations and offer many reliable services.

-General Maintenance (keeping plants healthy)
-Install/Design (interior plant makeover)
-Plant Sitting (enjoy that vacation!)
-Repotting (big or small plants)
-Treatments (bye bye, pests)

What sets me apart from other plant care services is that it’s not just about creating (or saving) a beautiful jungle in your home or office, it’s about de-stressing the mind by controlling your environment. You are what you surround yourself with.

I also donate to The Nature Conservancy to help conserve habitats and reforestation!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Hmm. Three qualities that come to mind are organization, friendliness, and action. These are what you need to be acquainted with if you are trying to start a business or program. If you stay organized and on top of your numbers, schedule, and paperwork deadlines, you will be set. It’s easy to fall behind or get distracted so make sure you either have someone to help you stay organized or set yourself up for success with reminders and a plan.

Being friendly in business is so important! You have to love your clients more than your product or service because it wouldn’t be possible without them. Take the time to be kind and careful with your customers.

We hear this a lot, but seriously, just do it. Take a tiny but mighty step toward your dream job or your next goal or even something small on your to-do list. Consistent action is probably the most crucial part of staying in business.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Overwhelm is my best friend…just kidding but it is easy to fall into its trap. When I feel exhausted or overwhelmed, I go to a quiet space and check in with myself. Even if it’s for 3 minutes in a separate room, I take deep breaths and ask myself how I feel at this moment. I then adjust to what I need or find a solution that will allow me to settle into what I need later on. Meditation is also a game-changer.
