Meet Tommie Pressley

We were lucky to catch up with Tommie Pressley recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tommie , so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
When I worked in the corporate world as a graphic designer, being the only one that looked like me was the norm. My way of still being effective in my role was by making sure that I was hard-working and making sure that I outlearned my coworkers.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I help entrepreneurs and companies to create more impact in the world and position themselves powerfully in the market place. I support my clients with this through branding and marketing. What really excites me about what I do is when my clients hit a milestone in their business that they didn’t know was possible.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most impactful things in my journey are learning how to market, my mindset, and mastering my craft. My advice to folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve these is to be around people who are where you want to be in their career and life. Some of my weak areas I was aware of. Others, I discovered. Marketing was something that I knew that I needed when it came to business, so I invested in someone teaching me how to do it.

When it comes to your mindset, it will reveal to you that sometimes the only thing that is stopping you from your dreams is yourself. My beliefs kept me playing small for years until I realized that all I had to do was make a decision.

Mastering your craft is very important. If you don’t, you won’t stand out in the sea of people who do similar things..

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am accepting clients. Here is how you know that I am your person that you need to work with in 2024.

Having 5 figure months as your base income in your business

You are having trouble putting together a full game plan for your marketing

You want to position yourself in a different market

You are stuck breaking through your glass ceiling.

You are not reaching as many people as you would like

You are realizing that your marketing is nonexistent.
