We recently connected with Anthony Leto and have shared our conversation below.
Anthony, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Staying consistently creative hasn’t been a problem for me yet thus far in my journey. Most of the time I find myself uncomfortable if I remain stagnant for too long. It’s almost like an addiction to creating. Fortunately I have extremely talented & driven creatives in which surround me. The family I have at Indapendant Studios, Trackout Studios, & The Hippie Circle keep me on my toes inspiring me to keep pushing toward our dreams!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’ve currently got my hands in many different bags to start off 2024! I have a few albums I am releasing throughout the year. A couple of Hip-Hop projects at the beginning of the year. Also a couple of instrumental albums which I produced dropping later on in 2024. I’m most excited for the new ventures the team at ‘Indapendant Studios’ is embarking on. With the recent partnership with ‘Studio 4:13’ we will be turning things up a notch in Fort Myers, Florida! Providing a safe & unique space to create content & network. Video/Photography shoots, Networking events, live musical performances, gallery shows, etc. We at Indapendant studios have been blessed with another amazing opportunity. We have began to start up the Music Production program at a very special place called ‘Quality Life Center’. At QLC we will be educating children on how to create & distribute music! As far as my brand ‘AHZUWOP’ expect the unexpected! I have some super cool original stuff in the works, but don’t want to give to much away…. I’ve been loving creating & experiencing life with a band I joined called “BillieRose”. Capturing performances, building content, traveling, while occasionally playing keys! Be expecting some timeless tunes from us soon…
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Consistency, Commitment, & Community. Remaining patient while practicing your skills everyday. Finding the time in your busy day to really hone in to your craft, even if it’s only 10 minutes. Create something everyday! Go for it… Overthinking will hold you back from completing a project, or even starting one in the first place. The most important thing to do is find your community. A collective of like minded individuals. Being surrounded by those who want to assist you in growing as an artist. Start with open mics, or network events in your area. If there’s nothing like that going on near you, don’t fear being the one to start it up!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I love collaboration!! Being that I produce music, paint, design clothes, direct, & throw events. I’m always excited to work with other creatives. I plan on working with musicians, dancers, visual artists, and business executives all over the globe! We have all the resources we need to create art that is timeless… Reach out to me whenever you’re feeling inspired!
