Meet Tory Lemoine

We recently connected with Tory Lemoine and have shared our conversation below.

Tory, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
My generosity is undoubtedly inherited from my mom. Throughout my childhood, I witnessed her selfless gestures of kindness and compassion, instilling in me the importance of giving back. Her generosity profoundly influences my life, motivating me to help others, not for recognition, but simply to make a positive impact on their lives, even if only for just a moment.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Tory and I am an accidental TikTok creator from South Louisiana. I have always had an artistic side. Since before I had social media, I’ve loved making videos and expressing my creativity through videography. When I joined TikTok, my focus wasn’t on gaining followers or to become an “influencer”. I simply indulged in what I enjoyed- creating inspiring videos. Once I started posting, I began to gain a following and realized that people liked what I was doing, which encouraged me to continue to create. Whether it was date night ideas, recipes, or family outings, I think people connected with me and my page. The feeling was mutual and I’ve grown so close to this community that I’ve built. I recognize each and every person who engages and comments on my videos. I often find myself thinking of one of my followers when I see something that they mentioned they liked, or a place that they wanted to visit. I always want to help people and bring a little light to their lives, even if it’s through a 1 minute long video they saw on TikTok that day. If I can make a positive impact, even in a small way, I consider that a success.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Creativity, Consistency, and Authenticity

With TikTok gaining recognition as a lucrative platform, there’s a surge in people eager to explore it. But many of them don’t commit to posting consistently, as someone would do if they had 0 followers and never made a dime off of TikTok. If you’re not driven by genuine love for creating content, it might not be the right path for you. If you find posting regularly to be a burden simply to remain consistent, it’s not for you. And if you are discouraged because you aren’t gaining followers or “going viral”, you’re not doing it for the right reasons. Because of this, authenticity will shine through, and distinguish those who stand out.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Not only did I discover my passion for creating content, but it prompted me to make a complete career shift. I was hired by a local marketing company as a social media manager based on my TikTok alone, which then led me to venture out and become self-employed. Now I not only create content for my own personal brand, but also for other small businesses, which I am deeply passionate about. It’s pushed me to learn more about online marketing, all social media platforms, and to push myself out of my comfort zone and anything that I knew before.
