Meet Leana Shayefar

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Leana Shayefar . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Leana below.

Leana , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my parents and watching them always be grateful and kind to everyone

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Leana Shayefar. I am the founder and owner of a luxury grip sock brand called Arebesk. I started this business in 2018 from my garage with a 10k start up and 0 outside money. I had an idea to bring more elegant higher quality grip socks to the market using better threads, fabrics and silicone. Arebesk is also the creators of the first sock wash bag sold with each pair . I tested a small batch before investing in larger quantities and worked very hard cold calling studios first 2 years to grow my brand . Today we are selling all over the world with a presence in 14 countries and In major retailers like Nordstom.com and Free People

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Having some experience in PR , marketing and design helped my business tremendously and having a few other start ups that didn’t quite get where I wanted it to be at the time

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Many people have helped me overcome challenges with this business. It is important to talk to other like minded women and business owners to learn and gain knowledge when hitting those road blocks
