We were lucky to catch up with 2MamaBees recently and have shared our conversation below.

2MamaBees, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Staying abreast on industry trends, not only in the toy industry, but also interior design is always 2MamaBees top priority. Our team pours passion and creativity into curating each new item to ensure all products not only encompass multiple levels of sensory play, but also aesthetically compliment any indoor or outdoor play space. All 2MamaBees products are meticulously crafted by second-generation Amish Artisans to withstand generational joy. It is 2MamaBees mission to curate simplistic and timeless designs to compliment the top-quality craftsmanship.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
We are just two Mama Bees trying to juggle it all. Best friends from childhood we are now proud mommies of eight children. Our story started in our own backyards handcrafting playhouses for our families to enjoy.

We approach the design of all 2MamaBees products with an unwavering commitment to every facet of play. We dedicate months to perfecting every detail, driven by our mission to make playtime with parents readily accessible. Our playhouses all stand almost 6 feet in height to ensure parents can comfortably join in the fun. It’s a reflection of our belief that play is best enjoyed together.

What truly sets 2MamaBees apart is our commitment to quality craftsmanship. Our products are proudly manufactured in America by skilled Amish artisans. Each piece is meticulously crafted, receiving the personal touch of multiple hands to ensure unmatched quality. We don’t just create toys; we construct heirloom pieces designed to be cherished and passed down through generations.

Finding ways to involve sensory play, motor development and environmental consciousness was also very important to us, which is why our stove handles click, our faucet knobs turn, our play food can be cut in half and our window boxes can be used to plant real flowers or herbs.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
2MamaBees is committed to three core brand promises: quality craftsmanship with a low carbon emission domestic manufacturing process, sustainably sourced lumber from managed forest and a goal to always be giving more than we take.

Being mothers ourselves, we have gone through the never-ending cycle of broken and poorly-made toys. We wanted to create a brand that could withstand generations of family use while also remaining aesthetically timeless. Being made in America was another top goal. We wanted our pieces to be hand-touched, non-toxic, and authentic to our story. 2MamaBees products are all proudly manufactured by skilled second-generation Amish artisans right here in America. We take great pride in being able to work hand-in-hand with some of the most hardworking and talented craftsmen. We see our entire process through from conception to completion.

All 2MamaBees products are proudly sourced from managed forest out of Vermont. To even further our goal of sustainability 2MamaBees teamed up with American Forest. American Forests create healthy and resilient forests, delivering essential benefits for wildlife, climate, people, and water. Their mission is advanced through place-based partnerships to plant and restore forest, forestry innovation and movement building. 2MamaBees has partnered with American Forests to continue our shared mission of forest restoration. We have made a promised commitment to plant ten trees for every Reign Two Story Playhouse sold, five trees for every one-story playhouse sold and three trees
for every Aviana Gourmet Play Kitchen sold.

How would you describe your ideal client?
Throughout our entire journey from a small backyard Etsy shop to now being sold in some of the largest retail stores in the world we have consistently been blessed with the most supportive and kind customer base. We feel this relationship has been solidified based on like-minded values. 2MamaBees takes pride in our products not only being domestically sourced and manufactured but also rigorously tested to not only meet but exceed the highest of safety standards. All 2MamaBees products are free from any harmful chemicals and all paints and stains are Low VOC compliant. We use almost no plastics in all of our designs and even our play food is made from wood. 2MamaBees takes great pride in creating quality products that our customers can feel confident in purchasing.
