Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shineth Gonzales. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Shineth with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I acquired a strong work ethic from a diverse range of individuals, including my late grandpa, my Ate (aunt), and my mother. Additionally, my professors and husband have also played a significant role in shaping my work ethic. These individuals have consistently demonstrated a deep passion for their work, resulting in remarkable achievements, awards, and recognition.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I take great pride in my role as an educator and school leader. I am currently a college instructor at one of the top colleges in Denver and also the founder of Colorado School. Over the course of the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of teaching more than 5000 students. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have been able to provide support and assistance to over 10000 families and community members in various aspects of their lives, including education, spirituality, and personal goals.
Furthermore, I am an ordained minister and lead a Bible study group that convenes virtually every Saturday. What initially began as a Women’s Bible group has now grown to include spouses and children, fostering a sense of inclusivity and community.
It is worth noting that Colorado School is a licensed testing center for GED or High school equivalency, further highlighting the institution’s commitment to providing individuals with opportunities to further their education and pursue their goals.
I am also an international author of three published books in Asia, Europe and North America.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Throughout my journey, I have come to recognize and appreciate the profound impact of three key qualities: humility, dedication, and integrity. These qualities have not only shaped my personal growth but have also played a significant role in my professional endeavors.
Humility has been a guiding principle in my interactions with others and my approach to learning. It has allowed me to remain open-minded, receptive to feedback, and willing to acknowledge my own limitations. By embracing humility, I have been able to continuously learn and grow, recognizing that there is always room for improvement.
Dedication has been instrumental in my pursuit of excellence and the achievement of my goals. It has fueled my determination to overcome challenges, persevere in the face of obstacles, and consistently put forth my best effort. Through unwavering dedication, I have been able to accomplish milestones and make meaningful contributions in both my personal and professional life.
Integrity has been the foundation of my actions and decisions. It has guided me to uphold strong moral and ethical principles, ensuring that I always act in a manner that is honest, trustworthy, and respectful. By prioritizing integrity, I have built strong relationships, earned the trust of others, and maintained a sense of authenticity in all that I do.
These three qualities have not only shaped my journey but have also influenced the way I interact with others, approach challenges, and strive for success. They have become pillars of my character and have helped me navigate through various situations with grace and resilience. I firmly believe that humility, dedication, and integrity are essential qualities that contribute to personal growth, professional success, and meaningful relationships.
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
One of the current obstacles I am encountering revolves around the lack of honesty displayed by certain individuals. As someone who strives to be supportive and available for my students and clients, it can be disheartening when my kindness is misconstrued as a vulnerability, leading some to exploit or mistreat it.
