Sormeh, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic is deeply rooted in the incredible resilience and determination of my parents, who immigrated from Iran to start a new life. Witnessing their relentless efforts to create a better life for our family after leaving their home country set the bar high for me.

Their sacrifices and commitment to providing me with the best possible life instilled in me a profound sense of responsibility and gratitude. I picked up their work ethic by observing their unwavering dedication to hard work, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence. Their journey serves as a constant reminder that success is often the result of consistent effort and a resilient spirit.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Back in 2015, I graduated from LMU and initially followed the well-paved law path, a departure from my usual choices. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize it wasn’t authentically me. Leaving law school was an unconventional move, but looking back, it marked the beginning of my journey toward the best version of myself.

This unexpected turn led me to a transformative real estate internship, reshaping my perspective and breaking away from societal expectations. Co-founding Zentap with my millennial team became my passion project, addressing marketing inefficiencies in the real estate sector.

Zentap is my personal revolution—a digital transformation for real estate professionals, with our automated software reshaping social media and business acceleration.

From a garage startup to pioneering data-driven real estate videos, our journey reflects the power of embracing change. I’m committed to inspiring others to break free from unfulfilling paths, drawing from both my personal experience and the authentic narrative embedded in Zentap’s story.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, three qualities that really made a difference were adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to take risks. Being adaptable allowed me to navigate through uncertainties and open up to new possibilities. Resilience helped me bounce back from setbacks, turning challenges into opportunities for growth. Taking calculated risks was a game-changer, propelling me into uncharted territories. For those starting their journey, I’d say embrace continuous learning – stay curious, seek experiences that broaden your horizons, and keep up with industry trends. Build a strong network; mentors, peers, and industry connections can offer valuable insights and support. Lastly, persistence is key. Challenges are part of the journey, but a tenacious attitude will help you emerge stronger. Remember, personal growth often comes from adapting, persevering, and taking well-calculated risks.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was instilling a profound sense of resilience and a belief in the power of self-discovery. Amidst challenges and uncertainties, they always emphasized the importance of perseverance, finding one’s true passion, and providing endless love and support in all my endeavors. Their unwavering encouragement created a foundation for me to navigate through life’s ups and downs, fostering a mindset that values resilience, self-discovery, and the determination to overcome obstacles. This foundation, coupled with endless love and support, has been a guiding force in shaping my journey and approach to challenges.
