Cirice, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. I turn my mental health into issues into creative devices. People who are of sound mind make boring and uninteresting art that doesn’t mean anything. Those who endure the most suffering will create some of the greatest works known to man.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the lead vocalist, producer and primary contributor to the now concluded band Scarlette Saturn. I make music that resists cliches and embraces existentialism. The music I make is not made for those who live within normalcy, nor does it fit into one particular genre but has many different influences including shoegaze, emo and noise.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The skills to play guitar, the ability to produce, the knowledge of shoegaze and midwest emo
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
The band coming to an end has been one of the toughest periods of time I’ve ever lived through. My outlet was gone for a long time but now I’ve managed to fill in that empty space with many new projects, all with different themes and aspirations and goals. I’m gonna be making some of the best music of my career with these new projects and I’m never looking back.
