We were lucky to catch up with William Brownlee recently and have shared our conversation below.
William , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
They way I developed my confidence and self esteem was through rehearsing my wins and reminding myself of my victories and creating opportunities to cultivate my inner child.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
William A Brownlee Sr was a man born and raised in Philadelphia PA on April 15th, 1987. He graduated from Overbrook High School, obtaining a full athletic scholarship where her later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pyschology from Central State University in WIlberforce, Ohio. He is the father of four children. While attending college, God petitioned for a full commitment from him which led to a full sacrifice of his NFL football career and an opportunity of a lifetime. IN 2012, he fully surrendered to the call upon his life and began to serve in the ministry at New Hope and Faith where we was ordained as a minister. He later went on to pursue his master of divinity at Palmer Theological Seminary in King of Prussia, PA. William A. Brownlee Sr., is currently the overseer and pastor of The New Emmanuel Christian Center Inc of Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Houston and Atlanta.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resilience, education and compassion. My advice to people who are early in their journey and how they can best develop or improve on these would be resilience help leaders navigate challenges, education helps people provide a solid knowledge based on decision making and compassion helps build trust and collaborate teams for success and helps people foster things in their life.
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
The particularly challenge I am currently facing is grant funding for my new church building.
