We were lucky to catch up with Sky Rose recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sky, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem at around the age of 5 I can say that I was definitely was not everyone’s cup of tea but i showed no interest in what others thought of me I was not gonna change who i was for anybody. As I got older and more mature my self esteem and self worth was through the roof. The way I carried myself with confidence little by little my presence would touch a lot of people my main support came from strangers rather then people who I had known for years which just pushed me more to accomplish all that i have ever wanted.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say #1 is loyalty because you have to be able to trust the people around you, and in this business you have to have the right people around you. I would say #2 would be consistency, without consistency you wont see yourself going anywhere. And #3 would be humble, you need to be a down to earth person in this industry it allows you to connect with the right individual’s that have the same goals and accomplishments as you and your craft. I would say one of my #1 skills would have to be that i’m a very observant person, I can read a room and be able to determine the people i’m allowing to be in my circle of trustworthy people. Some advice I would give to people is to never believe that your not capable of being able to accomplish whatever you set your mind to, anything is possible if you don’t give up on what truly makes you happy. If you are consistent about wanting to aspire as an artist you have to believe in you because 9/10 your support is going to stem from strangers before the people you think believe in you.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
i would love to collaborate with Sza in the future she is amazing, there so many talented artist out there that i would love to work with and thats what i would like to do is work with as many of my favorite artist as i can i love the creating part.
