Meet LaToi Storr

We were lucky to catch up with LaToi Storr recently and have shared our conversation below.

LaToi, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
From failure. Many times people are afraid to fail. It is through my many failures where I find myself and the passion to continue trying, The many times that I flopped doing something I also learned that in the moment of feeling let down that there are lessons to be learned. In the lessons it takes a moment to regroup and shift the focus. But the greater ability to keep your initiatives aligned. Years ago when I started the blog I felt like I had nothing, It became apparent that the only way was to go up. So I embarked on a journey that stretched me to my purpose

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a Lifestyle Blogger and Mental Health Advocate, ToiTime is about encouraging others that regardless of what mental health you live with daily you can experience a full life. I use video content to showcase things that are happening in the city of Philadelphia as well as tools such as therapy and more to show how I show up despite social and other anxieties. As a Blogger I write about 4-5 articles a week. Some of them are check ins which I describe behind the scenes of life. These blogs entail describing beyond the events of the week and focus on the mental health aspect of what I may have been dealing with. These blogs are what I hope encourage you to look beyond curated content and see me and yourself as an individual,

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
3 areas of knowledge that I feel I have that have helped me in my journey are being able to pivot, being coachable, and not easily ready to quit when things get hard. In my journey of speaking candidly about life’s topics having the ability to pivot is key. Life changes at a blink of a eye, Being able to flow with the ups and downs of any journey are super helpful. I am coachable which means as a storyteller its easy for me to formulate what I want or need to say. However being able to be taught how to use tools, flow with trends that make sense, and more are apart of learning daily of what my community that I am building needs. In my early journey I didn’t want to be in front of the camera. I wanted to exist as a Ghost writer in some aspects. How could I use I statements about what I had been through without being more visible? If you are scared to be who you are destined to be the first rule is to learn that you can continue to deny that your journey is knocking loudly but all you will do is keep being faced with it until you stand in your calling,

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Feeling overwhelmed happens often for me. How I combat that is to take a step back and evaluate my situation. I find often that I have taken on too much. This comes in the form of procrastination, not setting up my week properly, or simply not adding things like self care. As a Content Creator many want to have companies see them. However the key is to be consistent in their posting and post as if everything is a collaboration, This means make sure whatever you post you stand on, So when I am overwhelmed with the business or my home life I add down days. This means no matter what invitation comes in I say no to it and yes to me. These down days doesn’t mean that I am not working, it just means I am not at an event so I can rest, enjoy my family, or enjoy not having to be at a location,
