Meet Cliff Dorsey

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cliff Dorsey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Cliff , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
When I first started in music at the age of 15, I was quiet and shy. Having to overcome stage fright was a very real challenge for me. In the beginning, I clearly remember saying a prayer for my performance to be God’s will and to give me the confidence to get through the whole show. By never giving up, having faith, & taking the time to work on getting better I was able to develop the confidence and self-esteem to be the performer I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
The team and I released my new EP, ‘New Neon,’ on CDX Records/Sony Orchard/Black Sheep Label Group last year. The EP was produced by Zach Swon and Colton Swon of The Swon Brothers. It’s been a journey to get to this point as a recording artist and songwriter. Sharing lyrical tales both on record and on stage with listeners is very rewarding. Check out the music available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and more.

Just wrapped up in the studio, new music to come! Be sure to follow along to not miss out.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Faith – Believe that things will happen in the order in which they are suppose to. and be patient. 2. Be Intentional – Discover what you like, commit to doing what you want to do, & have fun doing it.
3. Build on your strengths – Study, learn, & continue to improve on what you are already good it.

Be yourself and don’t be afarid to stand up for your idea.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My dad bought me my first guitar and my mom paid for my guitar lessons. No one in my family played music and they supported me getting started. To this day they are very supportive of me and my dream.
