We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Viviana Cardenas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Viviana below.
Hi Viviana, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Ha! this is something that probably will never go away BUT the way I have overcome Imposter syndrome has been by staying consistent, persevering, setting attainable goals and being kind to myself. it has not been easy it is not impossible to overcome.
Imposter syndrome gets the best of most of us and some people just cant get pass it. One thing I heard someone say once was, if the goal is super scary and paralyzing, then you need to run to it even faster and I have done some of that.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Viviana, I am a portrait photographer specializing in personal branding I am located in Bridgewater NJ. I help entrepreneurs create branded images they’re proud of to show off to the world.
The coolest thing about what I do is seeing every single one of my clients go from being very nervous, tense and worried about how they will look in their photos to an empowered, confident go getter person. It has been so far the most rewarding experience for me and i love when my clients fall in love with the person they see in the photos i take of them.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities or skills that have impacted my journey the most has been being resilient, working on my self value and becoming very intentional with everything I do.
For folks that are early in their journey I can say, do the thing! do it scared and dont wait to be perfect, waiting for perfection is a sign of avoidance. If folks want to start a business, have a lot of passion for the business side of things and learn how to properly run a business and be sustainable. Passion for your craft vanishes when all you do is grind and you arent sustainable.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months has been in my confidence and self value. Being a business owner definitely shed light on how much self value and confidence I lacked lol, but the more I work on my business, the more I learn, the more evidence I get from my clients that my work and what I offer is valuable to them, the more confident I become.
