Meet Brandy M. Morgan

We recently connected with Brandy M. Morgan and have shared our conversation below.

Brandy M. , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
It’s funny how life throws us curve balls when we least expect it. This world that we live in will take you on the wildest of rides and still teach you lessons along the way. Some situations will teach you patience, some circumstances will show you kindness, and others will cause you pain. In each of these journeys, we must learn to find those hidden gems through all of the muck. It was within this muck that my purpose found me. I was facing federal charges because I chose to be in a relationship with the wrong type of person—someone whom I thought I knew. Along with that, I lost my job, and I ended up homeless for a year and a half with my youngest child. To make a long story short, after over a year of court, all charges were dropped against me, and I felt a weight lifted from my chest. Shortly after, I got hired at a new job, and we got into a shelter. Although we were in and out of shelters for a while, we ended up in a great family facility where I met the most amazing case manager, Kenya. She reminded me that my circumstances did not dictate who I was or what I was capable of achieving. It was because of her and the assistance of the YWCA that my son and I were able to get into a transitional housing program and finally have a home of our own. This was just about seven years ago. Since then, I have purchased my first home and started my own coaching & consulting business, Morgan Legacy Group, LLC. See, even back then, when I was in the muck of it all, I knew deep in my spirit that my life was meant for more. The truth of the matter is that I became an entrepreneur to be the support for others that I wish I had when I was at my lowest, and that is my purpose. If I can help even one person live a better, more positively fulfilling life, then I can leave this earth having fulfilled my purpose.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Morgan Legacy Group is about more than just coaching & consulting; we are about creating a path to empowerment. What makes this journey so exciting and unique is the profound impact we have on individuals and organizations alike. We are not just creating programs; we are also cultivating a community of growth and understanding.

Morgan Legacy Group, LLC is at the forefront of providing soulful coaching programs and training workshops along the Gulf Coast. We share our knowledge with community-based organizations, corporations, and individuals. Visualize this – workshops that delve into mitigating workplace microaggressions, honing professional organizational skills, and fostering an inclusive mindset, etc… We are not just teaching skills; we are providing tools that can be applied to any aspect of life.

When these tools are shared with passion and purpose, they result in dynamic teamwork, cultural understanding, and increased productivity. What motivates me every day is witnessing the transformative power of these skills. Employees no longer simply work; they thrive. They feel seen, heard, respected, and valued for the rich tapestry of diversity they bring to the table.

Life is unquestionably difficult, and external factors frequently add to the complications. But here’s the thing: the right tools enable people to navigate life on their own terms, with more joy and less stress. That is my driving force: a genuine passion for what I do and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to live their best life. If I can go from being homeless without a job to becoming a homeowner and entrepreneur, then you can too!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, three things have been instrumental in my growth. First, I have to mention resilience. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges and setbacks. Life is a crazy rollercoaster ride, and resilience has been by my side the entire time. In order to cultivate resiliency, you must embrace every experience as a lesson, finding strength in your adversity.

Second, effective communication skills have been crucial. Whether it is conveying my message to clients, leading workshops, or navigating difficult conversations, clear and empathetic communication has been a game changer. Active listening, articulation, paying attention to non-verbal cues, and being open to diverse perspectives are all lifelong skills that improve with each interaction.

Lastly, a deep understanding of oneself has been transformative. Knowing my strengths, values, and areas for growth has guided my decisions. Investing more time in self-reflection, exploring passions, and being open to personal growth can lead to a more balanced lifestyle. Embracing vulnerability and authenticity also helps to establish a solid foundation.

For those who are just starting their journey, my advice is to cultivate resilience by viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. Sharpen your communication skills—listen actively, express yourself clearly, and build connections. It’s not always about what you know, but who you know that can make all the difference in your life. Be open to the unexpected. And don’t be scared to invest in yourself, because if you don’t invest in your dreams, then how can you expect others to invest in you?

Remember, the journey is as important as the destination, and each step is a chance to learn, evolve, and create a meaningful, and memorable path.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Collaboration is at the heart of growth and innovation, so I’m always open to connecting with like-minded individuals and organizations. If you are passionate about empowerment, diversity, whole-person wellness, and personal development, we might be a good fit.

I am especially interested in working with people or organizations involved in coaching, advocacy, education, and personal development. Let us join forces, whether you are a fellow coach, an expert in workplace diversity, or a corporation with a shared vision for positive change.
