Meet Jenny Johnson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenny Johnson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenny below.

Jenny, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I grew up in an average family during the 1970s. Yes, way back in the 1900s! But during that time, the economy was so tough! The interest rates were astronomical, inflation was increasingly high, and there were 6 mouths to feed. We were on the struggle bus, and barely staying afloat. We couldn’t have done it without wonderful neighbors.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I manage a liquor store and Our family also owns The Dutch Oven On Wheels food truck. My goal in life is to leave each person, encounter, and day better than when we started.. I will be the change we want to see in this world… I hope my enthusiasm is SO contagious that it spreads like wild fire. The only way to change the world into a better place is to be that change. Be better tomorrow than you were today. Repeat this cycle and I promise you’re going to enjoy a beautiful life. My favorite part of owning a food truck is that I get to make a positive impact on those who need it most through fundraising. When you spread love into this world, love comes back to you! This is why our main ingredient in EVERY dish.is LOVE….The spice for living!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Open mindedness, unconditional love, and kindness are three things that have impacted my life journey. Once you realize that we all struggle in different ways, your mind opens to this pocket of compassion and kindness. This is an opportunity to leave this world a better place… we can be better or we can be bitter, but only one of those choices leads to beauty.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My Family! My Husband is the absolute best! He’s been by my side for 30 years and he helps me to be the best version of ME! When I lose my confidence or my smile, he reminds me where I’ve been and how far I have come… And, how much further I will go. My adult kids are my voice of reason. I honestly couldn’t do this without them. Plus, they’re watching me and learning that with every disappointment comes knowledge. Every piece of knowledge can be used as a building block to success. Success tastes so sweet, but there’s nothing sweeter or more satisfying than a big slice of humble pie. Stay humble and be grateful always!
