Meet Rigo Obezo

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rigo Obezo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rigo below.

Rigo, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I believe that we are here to help each other. This journey called life is not an easy one.

I grew up with very little, but my parents tried their best to give me everything that I needed.

Could I of had more? Sure! Could I of had less? Of course!

I feel that my generosity began at a very young age. I was taught to always put others needs ahead of my own.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an actor and business owner focused on expanding my business.

I love performing and being a part of artistic projects.

Whether it’s film, theater or TV, I want to create stories that make a difference and touch people’s hearts.

As a movie cop actor, I provide law enforcement services to the film industry.

I am also involved in promoting new APPS and equipment to law enforcement.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In order to start any business, you first need to have a decisive vision. Once you know what you want the next step is persistence.

No one ever helped me or told me what steps I needed to take. You will hit road blocks, but use those road blocks to build yourself and your business.

You cannot achieve anything without persistence.

Dedicate yourself to your craft and work hard at it. You will not always know the roads to take, but eventually the universe will show you what steps to take on your journey.

My circle is very small. I have developed great relationships with trustworthy people who I consider close friends now.

We help each other along the journey. Not just with work, but on a personal level.

When things get hard on a personal level, those friends are there to lift me up and help keep me pushing forward.

Even on days that I just don’t feel like getting out of bed, those true companions are there to assist me in jumping over those hurdles.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I am very open and honest about my struggles. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I pause for a moment. I take a few days off or as much time as I need.

I am into fitness. That is what I turn to when I feel overwhelmed. I hit the gym hard, go running or hiking.

Gotta take some time to let the mind, body and soul rest. Otherwise you may start to feel like a hamster running on a treadmill.

After a good workout, adequate rest and healthy food, I’m ready to get going again

There is nothing wrong with focusing on your mental and emotional health.

I feel that sometimes you gotta take some time off to recover from the constant grind.

Yes work hard and be driven, but also know when it’s time to take a break.
