We were lucky to catch up with Justine Reichman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Justine , thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
Generosity has been engrained in me since my upbringing. When I was a kid, I attended a United Nations school in New York where we learned to always be respectful and empathetic towards people from cultures and backgrounds different than our own. For one of my school projects, I walked around the streets of Manhattan with my film camera and took photos of all different kinds of people in the city. When I looked back on my photos, there was a lot of disparity and this experience early in my life encouraged me to always share with others, no matter what sets us apart from one another.
I don’t believe that generosity solely comes from the exchange of money, but rather having the spirit of generosity through sharing different kinds of resources that I can provide. I strive to be generous with my friends and colleagues by sharing my time, sharing useful information, and by offering encouragement. There’s plenty of ways to be generous and it starts with inclusivity.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As a founder and entrepreneur, there was a certain level of protectiveness I felt over my brand narrative and how the brand was going to evolve over time. I quickly realized that it’s important for myself and other entrepreneurs to know that we cannot do everything ourselves. Asking for help from other experts really helped me bring my brand to the next level. It’s not enough to just ask for help, but to really listen to others experiences and advice, integrating what helpful information I can into my own business model. I always try and remember that change is not bad, every idea has room to organically evolve and revisions are all apart of the journey.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Both my parents are entrepreneurs and they always told me that by working hard and having grit, I could accomplish anything I wanted. Most entrepreneurs experience peaks and valleys through their journey towards success and watching my parents encounter both failures and achievements, I felt empowered, motivated and inspired to keep moving forward. Working side-by-side with my mother, I noticed that she always surrounded herself with a diverse group of others that are experts in fields that she was not and by surrounding herself with a meaningful community, she was able to focus her energy on what she knew how to do best. When challenges arise, I always keep in mind that my parent’s were able to achieve success by staying true to their passions, but leaving room for growth and improvement with the help of others.
