We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lisa Erbacher. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lisa below.
Hi Lisa, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity definitely comes from my parents. They are both very giving and kind people. My aunt is also one of the kindest people I know.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Lately, I am concentrating on pushing myself out of my comfort zone: Learning new techniques, styles yet still being true to the brands identity. I am forever thankful for last year and the artists I was able to work with. This year Id love to design for Lainey Wilson, Kacey Musgraves & Carrie Underwood.
This years focus is on creating more and really building depth with newer styles for the brand. I would love to do a couple of big Music Festivals this year and I plan on doing the rodeo for 10 days at the end of the year.
I am hopeful I am able to launch my first Artist Collaboration/Capsule in the Fall of this year. It has always been my dream to take my previous corporate experience and apply it into my own brand. RUBYBLU’s foundation is built around music. So, I want to launch the perfect bohemian rebel capsule this Fall. The collection will have Fleetwood Mac inspired designs yet they will be original RB designs. Items in the capsule will include mens short & long sleeve button down shirts, and shorts, jewelry, womens bell bottoms, dusters & some jumpsuits. The collection will be limited in sizes and quantities.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
What are the most impactful skills, knowledge & qualities Ive learned in my journey?
I believe as far as qualities I would have to say fairness, kindness & customer service. I have always done whats right in my life regardless if it was a painful mistake. My mom instilled in me that fairness & kindness will go a long way. I always try to treat my customers the way that I would want to be treated. Customer service is very important to me. People always come back to my jewelry because I am kind and offer very good customer service.
Secondly, I would say my design eye and being able to put together a solid collection or custom order for a client is where I really excel. I love a good challenge. I love when a client gives me an outfit and tells me to design something special for them. I also love when I get to recreate something & give it a new life. For example, a family heirloom, a new necklace or wedding rings.
Lastly, this past year I took a financial risk and hired someone I thought would be really helpful to my business. Something didn’t feel right when I first met this person. In my gutt something was off. I waited 6 months, did some research on others, and finally went back to this person. Long story short. Listen to your gutt. It’s usually correct.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love to work full time with NBC’s the Voice & more Nashville musicians/stylists. I’d also love to collaborate with Idyllwind & tractor supply.
I have also thought it would be really cool to design some items for the Merch tents for musicians. Collab with the musicians to really design something cool. I have been to soooo many concerts and music festivals and the merch tents sell all the same stuff that is super expensive yet low in quality.
