Jean Carlos , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
The beauty industry thrives on the creativity expressed in each work. Personally, I am driven to create enjoyable experiences and relaxing spaces, aiming for enhanced customer satisfaction. My inspiration stems from human senses and their reactions, guiding my choices in colors, smells, music, and offerings at my beauty salon.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
“Óleo Men’s Salon,” a dream realized by a Puerto Rican, designed to offer the city’s finest experience. My legacy working with professional athletes, music artists and television personalities is evident in every clip and adornment within the vibrant store. Within those walls, industry terms transform into stories, scissors dance with strands of hair, and razors paint precise lines. “Óleo,” an ode to fluidity, resonates with clients on their journey of self-discovery and need.
In our salon, we operate as a committed family providing top-notch care. As part of our social responsibility, we offer free services through our mobile salon to those who need it most.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The first is the ability to listen, the second is discipline and third is consistency. This should make you a determined person on the path to achieving what you want. Repeating the processes will make you an expert.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
The first thing is to identify what is overwhelming me. After identifying it, knowing what causes it and then making the decision to confront it or correct it. Decision making will always be important to correct it in the moment and to prepare in case something similar happens again in the future.
