Meet Kiki Nikole

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kiki Nikole. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kiki below.

Kiki , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I realized my purpose after I started volunteering my time with various organizations, museums, clubs, and other events and charities. I have always been passionate about helping others, so volunteering just made sense. Years ago I moved from Los Angeles, California to the Sacramento area. Being in Sacramento gave me the chance to discover the State Museums, and other fun events. For instance, I remember moving to Sacramento and immediately realized that not only does volunteering boost my resume, but it also gives me the chance to meet new people and help those who may need it most. I especially loved working with the California Automobile Museum, with helping educate and secure the historic cars found in our history. Here I would always stay open-minded to learning new things because I have never been good with cars! Another museum I use to volunteer for was the Crocker Art Museum. This museum is in Sacramento and is the oldest museum in the Western United States. I remember on one occasion getting to volunteer as a teacher’s assistant during an evening drawing/art class. The centerpiece was a variety of shoes all scattered and placed in various heights, for the shadowing effects. The class had at least 20 people, and everyone had such a fun time! I highly recommend putting yourself “out there”, and seeing what opportunities might arise. I never thought I would be a “go-to” person for so many organizations, but because I stayed open-minded and flexible, I was able to adapt to any situation I found myself in. Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. I hold this to be true for my purpose in life, which is helping myself by helping others.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a coach and artist, I have devoted my time helping others on their journey. For instance, I have created a meditation and wellness lifestyle brand known as Toadstone Mountain Trading Co., where I’ve blended videography, photography, sound therapy, and fashion together. Helping people find wholeness, I’ve been able to use my skills, knowledge, and abilities based on art, education, and creativity. My goal is to encourage and support you on your path to wellness. As an artist, for instance, I’ve chosen to use a teleidoscope to specifically curate the designs found in the Virtual Gallery and online shop. REVERBERATE, for instance, is the collection which showcases a different birthstone, depending on the month. The video content is posted on our website, as well as our YouTube channel (@TMTCVIBEHIGHRADIO). What is so unique is that both the visual and audio content is put together to be a meditation tool for your journey. I’ve also designed the video to include a self-paced guided meditation which includes various types of breathing exercises and different affirmations. Right now, for February we are in Amethyst Days ’24, and will be coming into Aquamarine Days ’24 once March is here. To see the entire schedule, please visit our website and find the REVERBERATE tab at the top. The photography for this collection is extracted from the video content, and put on merch such as leggings and hoodies, which can be purchased in the shop also found on our website (www.toadstonemountain.com). We look forward to seeing you there! Also, feel free to contact me via email (toadstonemountain@gmail.com) if you have any questions about the merchandise.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I have a growth mindset, meaning I believe I have control over my life. I believe my efforts matter, and I believe that effort and hard work can lead to meaningful growth. I keep myself open to learning new skills, especially when faced with a challenge. I try and look for ways to constantly keep developing, and I view failure as learning experiences. For instance, I don’t believe that failure defines my abilities and skillset. I consider it an invitation to try again in a different way at a different time. Speaking of time, I am a firm believer in Divine Timing which is the universal truth that everything happens at the right moment. I especially believe that manifesting divine timing happens by setting clear intentions, being patient, and trusting the universe. I especially look for synchronicities, meaningful coincidences, and gut feelings to understand the divine timing in my life. My advice includes having the courage to stay true to your own intuition and gut feelings whenever you are faced with change. Also, maybe try increasing your self-awareness, and trust that everything happens for a reason.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Whenever I don’t know what to do, I don’t do anything at all. For instance, if I feel overwhelmed, I will usually take time to reset, especially by doing nothing except relaxing activities. For instance, taking a warm shower or watching one of my favorite movies. You might also want to research “Do Nothing” Meditation. This technique has helped me overcome stress and anxiety. For example, this meditation style teaches to let go of too much control, allowing the mind to let go of thinking about certain topics, keeping track of time, or analyzing your surroundings. This style of meditation includes allowing the mind to wander, without control or disruption. The key is to stay objective and not label your thoughts – it’s about passive observation without engagement. I believe this style of meditation has helped with increasing positive feelings and improving my awareness. If you want to try this style of meditation, remember to go with the flow and to stay consistent.
