Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lindsey Jensen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Lindsey, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
Generosity was modeled to me all of my life as I watched my parents. I had a front row seat to how they gave to others. My mom and dad both felt it was important to share the blessings you receive – and they didn’t just talk about it, they did it. I remember one time my parents loaded my sister and I up in the car to go pick out winter coats for a family who was in need. I saw my parents give to our church, to friends and to family. It wasn’t something they announced, rather just something they humbly did. So I learned by watching them.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Having spent over two decades in the DFW Metroplex, my affinity for all things Texas has grown, deeply rooting me in the rich culture and spirit of the Lone Star State. However, my journey began in Fort Collins, Colorado, where my father’s passion as a home builder and developer first sparked my interest in real estate. This early exposure sowed the seeds of my future path, though my journey toward a career in real estate was anything but direct.
After high school, I set off on an academic adventure, earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, followed by a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas. My career then took a compassionate turn as I dedicated many years to serving children as a pediatric speech therapist, a role I still cherish and maintain licensure in. Alongside my professional career, my entrepreneurial spirit thrived through engaging in various ventures, including launching and successfully selling a small clothing brand. This journey underscored my relentless work ethic and repeatedly brought me back to the idea of a career in real estate, an idea I eventually pursued with fervor.
Today, I am proudly affiliated with The Ashton Agency, a place that resonates deeply with my core values – integrity, grit, character, and strength. My commitment to fostering trust and integrity in relationships with clients is paramount. I believe my exceptional communication skills, innovative marketing strategies, and unwavering dedication to service excellence are the keystones of my success in real estate.
My passions extend beyond real estate, encompassing a deep love for America, our military, and conservative values. I am immensely proud to serve as an Ambassador for Turning Point USA and have had the honor of being a lead instructor for a Realtor Safety Course in collaboration with US Law Shield. My journey is one of diverse experiences, all converging to shape the person and professional I am today.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Interpersonal skills: knowing how to relate to people and work with them in what is often the most emotional and largest expense they have in life, buying a home
2. communication skills: always following up and maintaining clear communication
3. a desire to learn and take on new challenges.
For those contemplating a career in real estate, my advice to them is to understand that success in this field demands hard work and unwavering dedication. It is not a mere hobby; rather, it requires a commitment to learning the intricacies of the craft and earning the trust of others to excel in the profession.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Spending time outdoors is my favorite way to reset and recharge. Being surrounded by nature, witnessing beautiful sunsets, and slowing down a bit reminds me that this world extends far beyond my immediate concerns. It’s a powerful reminder that there is a God in control of it all.
