Meet Sherice Sheppard

We recently connected with Sherice Sheppard and have shared our conversation below.

Sherice , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
Optimisms is hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something. My optimism comes from providing a better life for my kids. I’m very optimistic because I love what Im doing and I believe in what I’m doing and I won’t give up until we’re where we need to be. My optimism comes from putting in the work until I see the outcome. This is not just about me. This is about helping people make their dreams come true and be successful. My optimism comes from having visions about us doing big things.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I can’t really name just three. What was most impactful on my journey was persistence, resilience, faith, believing in myself and patience. You will have some road blocks but you have to be persistent and not give up. Sometimes you may have to change the plan, but don’t change the goal. Resilience is being able to move through those tough times and grow and/or learn from it. Faith because even when you’re going through those tough times or storms, you gotta have faith you’re still going to win or it will happen. Believe in yourself. You have to know YOU CAN DO IT. Patience, which is something I still battle with sometimes lol. Nothing happens overnight, but some progress is better than no progress. Show yourself some grace. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing was not what my parents did for me, but what I inherited from and that was hard work. My parents were no strangers to working hard. My mom was a supervisor and my dad was a union stewart for the post office. My mom would have months of sick days because she NEVER called in to work. My dad would do a lot of overtime. Because of their work ethic I work hard at whatever Im involved in. When working on your dreams or goals you can’t be lazy. You only get what you put in. You can’t cheat the grind.
