Meet Shakira Huglon

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shakira Huglon . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shakira below.

Hi Shakira , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose by continuing to try new things, praying and failing. I always wanted to make sure i did what i loved in this life, making sure i got my fun out of it. My passion for fashion styling/designing is so strong. I dream to become a celebrity stylist in the long run and create art and express my voice through fashion. The fashion industry is growing tremendously. So many people are working to get at the top of the hill, i will be one of those people. I fell inlove with fashion at the age of 9. I’m surprised i haven’t found my purpose back then, but it’s God’s plan to make sure you’re ready when it’s the right time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Many people call me Nanna when it comes to word of mouth dealing with fashion styling. I style both men and women. I believe fashion has no rules and no boundaries. On the other hand, style last forever. Many people express themselves through fashion, including me. I’m a whole different person when i’m working/creating. I plan to expand my creativity through designing aswell. I love to challenge myself.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three most important things i’ve learned was patience, knowledge, & develop. There’s no limit when it comes to knowledge. You can learn something new everyday. Being patient is very important, perfect your craft slowly & do-not just rush and crash. You learn so much by being patient. Discipline is what will make you develop. Keeping your head up & understanding. Knowing everything takes time. The more you understand, the better you become.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
The challenge i’m currently facing is being a perfectionist. I think everything supposed to be perfect no matter what stage i’m currently in. It drives me crazy sometimes but i’m working on it. Sometimes it takes over and have me thinking about a million things at once. But i’m learning to understand to just grow naturally and stop perfecting.
