We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Anderson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I like to think my purpose found me at a really young age. I’m an Enneagram 2 which, for those who aren’t aware, is known as “The Helper.”
Since I was a child, I have always been a helper to those around me. I rarely if ever enjoy the spotlight and would rather be behind the scenes making dreams come true for people on stage.
I’ve been supporting others through words for years, and after a meeting about five years ago I remember thinking, “This is what I want my life to be. I want to help people tell their stories.”
Being human means leaning into the uncomfortable portions of life, and my purpose is to use words to convey the good, bad, ugly, and everything in between.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My position as a copywriter is such a joy to me in the everyday, I never saw myself owning a business or even making it this long (going on 8 years!), but doing what I love everyday is a gift.
I specialize in working alongside women-owned businesses to help them thrive, tell their story, and save time to do what they do best.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Time-management: a lesser known fact about myself is I was home educated through high school. I learned from a young age how to manage my time wisely and how to stick to a plan even if I was bored or didn’t know my next steps. I was able to use this in my business and get things accomplished in a reasonable time.
2. Typing 80+ WPM: This is one of my favorite bragging rights – I type really fast. I can pump out about 80+ words per minute and it allows me to get a lot of work done quickly and efficiently (and I have about a 94% accuracy).
3. A desire to learn: This quality may seem a little out of left field, but bear with me. A lot of my peers who went through college with me finished school and then stopped learning. They got into job positions they worked hard for but they didn’t continue to learn after graduation. However, I consider myself a constant learner and student. It has allows me to broaden horizons and learn new skill sets quickly.
For those beginning their journey I say this – be patient with yourself as you learn new skills, terminology, and how to connect with people. Doing it from a genuine place of wanting to better people’s lives is of upmost importance.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to work with more women business owners!
Growing up, I had just a handful of close women friendships and I’ve realized as I’ve grown up that these are few and far between. My goal is to connect more women with one another and to take flight together as we navigate through life and business.
I would love to collaborate with more website designers, marketing agencies, public relations specialists, and any others who know the value of good copy. You can always locate me by using my website – www.tiffanywritesllc.com
