We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Steph Lilly Smith a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Steph, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My journey to cultivating confidence and self-esteem has been a dance between resilience and self-discovery. Embracing the multifaceted roles in the entertainment industry, from talent agent to CEO, allowed me to harness a diverse skill set and navigate challenges with a sense of purpose. Grounded in the belief that anything is achievable with inspired action and faith, I’ve turned setbacks into stepping stones. Incorporating personal development and meditation coaching into my repertoire has not only enriched my spiritual connection but also propelled my self-esteem by reinforcing the power of positive thinking. Through entrepreneurship, performing arts, and a commitment to love and justice, I’ve learned that true confidence arises when you authentically embrace every facet of your being and fearlessly step into the spotlight of your own narrative.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an executive producer for TV, digital content, and live events, and the CEO of Creatricity, my professional journey is a kaleidoscope of creativity and entrepreneurship. What sets my brand apart is its multi-hyphenate essence; talent agent to CEO, I’ve worn numerous hats in the entertainment industry, fostering a wealth of skills and knowledge. The most exciting aspect is the seamless fusion of my passions: producing captivating content, coaching mindset and manifestation, and creating a social network and productivity hub for vetted media professionals. At Creatricity, we’re redefining the landscape for creatives, providing tools to manifest dreams and curating an ecosystem that thrives on love, excellence, and justice. Stay tuned for upcoming digital products, transformative events, and the continued expansion of my personal brand, aiming to inspire and elevate individuals on their journey of self-discovery and mastery. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
As I look back, the three qualities that have been pivotal in my journey are resilience, a thirst for diverse knowledge, and an unwavering belief in the power of love. My advice for those embarking on their path is to embrace setbacks as opportunities, never stop learning, and anchor every endeavor in a foundation of love – for yourself, your craft, and those you serve.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When the waves of overwhelm hit, I find solace in the sanctuary of my own mind and spirit. My go-to strategy is to pause, breathe, and anchor myself in gratitude. I’ve cultivated a mindset that perceives challenges as opportunities for growth, reminding myself that I am capable of navigating any storm. Embracing mindfulness practices, such as meditation and visualization, help me realign with my purpose and dissipate the fog of overwhelm.
Additionally, I lean on the support of my loving community and prioritize self-care rituals, whether it’s dancing, singing, enjoying family time or immersing myself in the creative process. My advice to others facing overwhelm is to pause, connect with your inner strength, and remember that every challenge is a stepping stone to greater resilience and personal mastery.
